Weekly review November 1st 2022

The weather has been exceptionally warm for Cleveland and we have been trying to take as much advantage of it as we can. As I write this we had our first real snow fall and I’m missing the warmer weather of the 1st week of November.

We had another Cavs game that went into overtime against the Boston Celtics and we won for the 2nd time in 5 days. It was such a great game. We stopped into Shake Shack for dinner and I had to try the Christmas Cookie Shake. It was very much on the sweet side but did taste just like a sugar cookie. I did like it but because of the sweetness this is not something I could drink all the time. If you love Christmas flavors and Shake Shack milkshakes I would give these a try.

I haven’t been cooking at home much but did make a Half Baked Harvest recipe this week. I made the Broccoli Cheddar Chicken and Rice Casserole https://www.halfbakedharvest.com/broccoli-cheddar-chicken-and-rice-casserole/ this was so simple for a weeknight dinner and gave me lunch for the next two days. I really liked all the veggies and chicken mixed with cheesy rice. So good!

Friday night we went to a comedy show at Hatfield’s Goode Grub on the west side of Cleveland. The restaurant has two stories. The main level has a bar, dining area and a separate room where they have a coffee shop and order area. They have pool tables and Skee ball machines as well. The first floor does have a stage area and they do have some shows and bands downstairs but a lot of their events are upstairs, which is where we were at. The upstairs has its own bar but you do need to go downstairs at the coffee shop area to order your food and they give you a pager to go back downstairs and pick your food up. We did get some food but it was so dark and I didn’t want to interrupt the comedy show so I’ll be making my way back out to try some other menu items and get pics. I did try one of the burgers and it was really good. A couple of us tried the Mac and cheese with our meals and it was mixed reviews. The Mac is a brown sugar Mac and is much sweeter than most mac I’ve had. I enjoyed that they took a different take on such a popular dish and made it their own. The mixture of cheese and brown sugar is interesting and unique.

Sunday was beautiful weather in Cleveland and we took full advantage. We checked out Cordelia on East 4th street downtown. Cordelia open in July of 2022 where Lola once was. The family has so much history in Cleveland and it now has come full circle to Cordelia. I have been trying to check it out for months now and we finally were able to get a reservation. They serve brunch on Sundays and dinner Wednesday through Saturday. The brunch menu is a unique take on American food. I can’t wait to go back and check out their dinner.

It’s getting cold in Cleveland and I’m really looking forward for the holidays.

I really liked it and highly suggest it! They had unique twists on all your traditional brunch items and some things I would have never thought to try. I really want to try there dinner as well.
