The first week of January was eventful in the Cleveland sports world and consisted of some healthier habits and a new restaurant.
The Cavs beat the Bulls on Tuesday in overtime. They had been down most of the night and then all kinds of craziness happened including Mitchell scoring 71 points. Of course one of the games we did not have tickets for. I can’t believe I missed seeing that amazing performance live. I was screaming at my tv from home don’t y’all worry. I didn’t completely miss it. We did make it to Thursdays game against the Suns and saw another fabulous win from the Cavs. There was a Suns fan next to me that was very invested in her team. She was not happy when we came back at the end of the game. All the reasons I never count the Cavs out. It was a long game with little points, but the ending was so great.
We started our new year deciding to watch more of what we eat, which for me can be challenging sometimes. I love food and have not always had the best relationship with it. But so far so good. I made a Cauliflower Pesto Pasta that I really enjoyed. It was a Half Baked Harvest recipe and I even made the pesto sauce from scratch. Here is the link if your looking for some meal options for the new year. https://www.halfbakedharvest.com/creamy-pesto-pasta/ I will also try to get back to sharing some of the meals we pick like I use to do. I know some people had reached out saying they missed this in my weekly reviews. To be honest I wasn’t doing a lot cooking part of last year so it’s been nice getting back to it.
We spent most of the week eating at home but did try Pasha Turkish Kitchen in Willowick, OH. I had been here when it was the previous sports bar and they did a really good job with the renovations of this space. I will admit I struggle sometimes knowing what to get at new restaurants and everything on the menu looked so good. I did go with the chicken kabobs and rice and it did not disappoint. We tried some other stuff that was equally as good so I will share a full review of everything we had soon. This meal did with the exception of the bread, fall within my healthy eating which was pretty exciting.
We did close out the weekend watching the Browns Steelers game with family and meal prepping for the week. This healthy new year is a lot of work but really worth it. Let me know what goals you set for the new year.
I want to try that Turkish kitchen! Yummmmm š
It was so good! Iām working on a full review. But I honestly think anything you get from there you will be happy.
