Mentor Brewing Company & weekly review Jan 15th 2023

I really tried to stay focused this week on healthy eating and working out. Adding new work outs in through out the week. My cat loves working out with me. If I could only workout the way she does.

I spent a lot of the week hanging out with my cousin, who I haven’t seen in more years than I would like to admit and hanging out with some of my other family I don’t see often enough. It was so much fun spending time with family and seeing everyone.

Saturday we went to Mentor Brew in Mentor, Ohio to have some drinks and visit with a friend. I really enjoy Mentor Brew’s beers, wines and other options. They do not carry food but do encourage you bring your own from the local eateries. They do host some pizza making classes, paint and sip events, and trivia. They normally list the dates, times and cost on their social media sites and website if you are interested. I was excited because they did still have one of my favorite beers the Snowflake. This beer is high alcohol percent but in my opinion does not taste like it. It’s an IPA with fruity tropical notes and it just tastes so good. We also tried the Solar Flare which is also an IPA with tropical and citrus flavors. My husband is not much of an IPA fan but even he really liked the Solar Flare. We both agreed it smelled like an IPA but did not have the grassy flavor or after taste most IPAs have.

Mentor brew also has other options besides beer. We tried samples of the white peach cider, the peach flavor really comes out and provides wonderful flavor. Next the pineapple mango seltzer, which the taste was interesting in a good way. It was refreshing and the pineapple flavor tasted more natural than in other seltzers but it was on the sweeter side. Lastly, we tried the Lemon Shark which is a hard lemonade. I didn’t think this was too tart but the more you drank it the more of the sourness came out. I was very much a fan of all these options.

Saturday was also the release of Mentor Brew’s dessert wine, Cherry Bomb. This wine goes quickly since they only make limited quantities. I typically am not a fan of cherry flavored drinks as they can taste like cherry cough syrup. That is not the case with Cherry Bomb. It had a strong cherry flavor and was sweet but did not taste like cough syrup at all. It was so good and I totally understand why Mentor Brew sells out so quickly.

This past week was pretty quiet but it was so fun to see so much family and really get some relaxation in. As I’m editing to post this review Cleveland Brewery Tour announced it will be back this year and that Mentor Brew will be back on the list. It’s total worth a stop in and I’m so happy they are participating back with the tour. Grab some take out, pizza or subs and go have some drinks at Mentor Brew. Have you been there what’s your favorite drink?
