Taco Tuesdays and a lunch date at Sol

If your looking for a good taco Tuesday place, Sol in Downtown Willoughby gets my vote. They have $3 tacos and $3 shots of Tequila. It was one of the first places we had to go enjoy when all the restaurant’s patios opened back up in May. I have said it many times Sol has one of my favorite patios in the Downtown Willoughby area. I can sit on the patio and just enjoy being out whether it is for a quieter lunch or a busier taco Tuesday.

The first thing for a taco Tuesday night you must indulge in is their multiple margarita flavors. I have never had a bad flavor here. I even enjoyed the avocado when I tried it, which I was skeptical about. My favorites would be the blackberry and the jalapeño.

As for food that night we started with the Malanga Chips salsa and queso. I mean how do you go out for taco Tuesday and not get some form of chips and salsa. We have been trying to locate Malanga Chips to purchase but they appear to be impossible to find. We then moved to the tacos. They recently removed some of their tacos and added a couple new ones. The new Bourbon Chicken my friend had been raving about so I got that and my favorite the Chorizo and potato. I tell everyone if you like a little kick then the chorizo and potato is the taco for you. I like the spiciness from the chorizo and the pickled jalapeños but then the goat cheese is soft and cools down the spice and the potatoes soak up all the yummy extra goodness. So now back to the Bourbon chicken. I love yum yum sauce and pretty much love anything that comes with yum yum so its no surprise this taco comes in a close second on my favorites here. The old version of the chicken I was not much of a fan of but this one is really good. Besides the chicken and yum yum sauce it has bean sprouts and pineapple salsa. You just can’t go wrong with any pick you make as all the tacos are really good.

Also pictured above are shrimp tacos which were on the menu and I believe are sometimes specials on the menu now but are not on the menu full time anymore. They are my husbands favorite type of taco. Also the crab cakes which I had never tried from here before and was shocked at how good they are. They were cooked to have the right amount of crisp, the crab tasted very fresh, and the sauce added that extra flavor.

I also was here recently for lunch with my parents for my mom’s birthday. It has become her annual birthday spot whether we go for lunch or dinner I always bring her here. This year the 3 of us enjoyed an early lunch to celebrate. My mom and I tried one of the newer drinks on the menu the Sun Day which has Bulliet bourbon, peach, lemonade and ice tea. For sure a good pick for an early Friday lunch. It was light and flavorful for the summer. For lunch that day I had the Southern Chicken which has nice crispy breading with tons of flavor. My mom had the same thing because she trusts my pallet lol! Then my dad tried the bourbon tacos which I suggested, as he was a little concerned when looking at the menu what he should get. He did seem to really enjoy them. All the meals come with a side of street corn, which you can sub out for a salad or fries but who would do that when the street corn is so good here. I could eat huge bowls of it if my diet would allow me too.

So pretty much whether you are looking for a place to enjoy taco Tuesday or just a place to have a nice brunch, lunch or dinner I highly recommend Sol. This is one of my go to places and the minute we could venture out and enjoy we made it a point to do so a couple times this summer.

If you have never been here go check it out and let me know your thoughts!
