Rosati’s Frozen Custard

Our second stop on our ice cream tour Rosati’s Frozen Custard, which took us out to Northfield to a place down the street from our friend’s parents and a place that they swear by some of their special flavors of ice cream, which change everyday. If you go to their website you can pull up their monthly calendar of flavors.

A little history on this place. The owners Jim and Marcia Rosati decided in 2000 to expand as they own Honey Hut Ice Cream in Brecksville and Brunswick. They adapted their ice cream into making frozen custard, which is made fresh every day.

On this particular day and the reason we had to go was because the flavor of the day was Sea Salt Caramel. I was not sure how I actually felt about custard or sea salt caramel, so I was a little nervous for this choice.

I just got a small sea salt caramel sundae with whipped cream and caramel sauce. Might have been too much sweetness. The texture of the custard was amazing. I think the sea salt caramel is probably great on it’s own and I was honestly having some regrets on adding the extras. My husband got his normal choice of a Turtle, which I promise he does not stick with this choice at every place we go and sometimes by choice not because they do not have them. Everyone else that we were with also got the sea salt caramel whether it was in a sundae form or by itself in a cup as they were not doing cones at the time. My friend added some nuts to hers as extras.

I liked this little spot and would visit again even though it is a little ways from home. I like that they have different flavors daily and you can just check their calendar and be like yep I wanna try that one. It looks like a custard night. I am still not sure how I felt about the sea salt caramel, I’m not sure if it was the flavor itself or just the extras I added, as everyone else raves about it.

If you have checked out this spot drop a comment and let us know what your favorite flavor is.
