Missing Falls Brewery in Akron, OH is hosting Moe’s pop up bar, a Simpsons themed pop up. They encourage you to dress up and really be part of the atmosphere. From the moment we walked in and were checked in by Marge to when we ordered drinks at the bar they did a great job making you feel like you were in Moe’s.
They have different packages you can purchase. Our package included our ticket for the event and then food. The food options were chicken tenders, a Krusty burger, a beyond Krusty burger, and pizza. You also have the option to add fries with multiple dipping sauces or a salad. We ordered the burger and the pizza. The burger was a smash burger with basic toppings and a special sauce. It tasted very fresh and had great flavor. The pizza reminded us of a frozen pizza but it was still good.
For dessert they have the drunkin’ d’ohnuts dessert. This dessert made my night. It was slightly different than the picture on the website and didn’t have all the smaller donuts but had other sweets and candy instead. It was still very much worth the price. The marshmallows that came in our dessert were some of the most flavorful marshmallows we had ever had.
They have two drink options, Duff beer, which is a light beer and the Flaming Moe. You can get the Flaming Moe with or without alcohol but other than that it’s a secret to what the other ingredients are. It didn’t actually taste like cough syrup but did have a sweet flavor to it. My friend got hers with vodka and she said she loved it because she couldn’t taste the alcohol.
There were multiple photo opportunities including spider pig and Moe’s office. They had darts, a pool table, and a scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt takes you outside of Moe’s bar into a back area where there are also pinball machines and a couple other games and the back entrance to Missing Falls Brewery. This is where you will find the last item on the scavenger hunt list. If you finish the list you get a gift as well.
This event goes through January 28th and was so much fun! They did a great job making you feel like you are in Moe’s bar. I would say even if you’re not a huge Simpson’s fan this was still a fun event and something different to do in this chilly weather.
