I know we are into July but really all of a sudden life got super busy and I just have so much to share with everyone. I live for busy weeks and the week of June 6th was just that. It has been awhile since I had a week this busy but I fully embraced it and enjoyed every moment.
Tuesday we had dinner at Tavern Six in Kirtland, Ohio. This restaurant has a beautiful patio and I wish it wouldn’t have been on the chilly side because I love sitting out there. If you are from Cleveland you know our weather and lately it’s been all over the place. 60 and windy one day 99 the next. We tried their chicken paprikash soup which was really good. It was on the thicker side and had great flavor. I got my regular a grilled chicken sandwich with chipotle Mayo and a side of Mac and cheese. It’s one of my favorite meals. They just do it right! My husband got the Tex’s Mex burger with fries. He said it was good and had great flavor.
Kirtland Creamy is on our way home so since Tavern Six was sold out of cupcakes we stopped there for some ice cream. Their flavor of the month was strawberry cheesecake and the sundae of the month was the strawberry shortcake sundae. I was so excited! Sadly they were already sold out of the flavor of the month that’s how good it was. So I went with regular strawberry ice cream in the sundae of the month. It also had marshmallow cream, graham crackers, whipped cream and a cherry. It was so good even with just the strawberry ice cream.
Friday we went out to Chardon to garage sale and stopped at this little restaurant called Spinners Good Time Diner. This place was adorable and had the family owned feel. It’s a 50’s themed diner with records all over the walls, some memorabilia and some posters and signs from the 50’s and 60’s. The menu has all the classic breakfast options plus omelettes, skillets, pancakes, French toast and some other specialty items. We ordered the country fried steak and a skillet both had great flavor.
We golfed at Lost Nation golf course after we were done garage sailing. I shockingly made it through 18 holes. This course is really nice and the back 9 is much harder than the front half.
Friday night we checked out The Yard on 3rd in Downtown Willoughby. This place is the new go to hangout spot in Willoughby and rightfully so. They have a bar area in the middle with tables and games all around. They have specialty drinks that are made from organic juices from a company out of Columbus. They also carry cooler kits, beer and seltzers. There are different food trucks every day, as well as Geraci’s slice shop which is open everyday. Certain days of the week they have music and vendors. The Yard is family and dog family. If you haven’t checked it out add it to your list! It’s one of my new favorites. A full review will be up soon.
We closed out the weekend in Pittsburgh, PA for the Kenny Chesney concert. There is just something about seeing Kenny at a stadium and in Pittsburgh. Which I know my lovers of Cleveland might be mad at me for but I swear there is just something about it. People tailgate everywhere including along the river on their boats. We stayed at the Westin and had such a great experience. There were tons of options for food all around our hotel and in the hotel. The concert started at 5 so we ate dinner at the stadium. I of course found a Pierogi stand. Some of them were a little crispy on the edges but they were still much better than typical stadium food. The concert was amazing with performances from Carly Pearce, Old Dominion, Dan and Shay and Kenny. It was so great to be back at this concert!
We did explore the stadium a little bit since we are huge NFL fans. They have so much memorabilia and it was like being in a museum.
I love weeks like this. So much good food with amazing people making tons of memories. It was so nice to get away. I wish I had a chance to explore Pittsburgh more but I’ll be back.
