I hope everyone had a fabulous Fourth of July weekend celebrating with loved ones and some of their favorite people. I feel like my weeks have gotten so busy lately. Sometimes I miss the calmness of 2020 but the normalcy has been really nice too. Two weeks ago was a little quieter during the week but then the weekend seemed jam packed.
Even though Cleveland was a little on the chilly side Friday we still enjoyed the outdoors. We visited Fairport Beach which is one of my favorite beaches on the east side. The Metropark owns it and it is almost always clean. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves until later in the afternoon when the sun came out a little. When your from Cleveland 65 and sunny still equals a beach day and we enjoyed just being able to relax.
Saturday we visited our neighbors at their campsite out at Holiday Camplands, which is not far from the PA boarder. It was so nice to get away for the day. The campgrounds are huge and have tons of stuff to do. They have two pools, volleyball and tennis courts, bands that play most weekends, and all kinds of other events planned. We had such a blast driving around and exploring, eating amazing food and spending time with great friends. We had tons of great food but one of the appetizers I have to tell you about. They were smokies wrapped in bacon with a brown sugar topping. They were amazing!!!
We went to a picnic on Sunday, where we got to watch fireworks. The Captains, Eastlake’s minor league baseball team, set off fireworks all weekend. They were not a very long show but it was nice that all the kids got to enjoy some fireworks, as there were still not many cities around us having fireworks.
To finish the weekend off we golfed at Lost Nation Golf course in Willoughby. This course is very well maintained and does have a tough back 9. I am not that great of a golfer so I normally golf the front 9 of this course, as once you get to the back 9 there is some water and some high grass areas that you have to make it over to get to the hole. I actually shot pretty well all things considered. This is a nice course to visit for both beginners and golfers that have some experience.
This weekend was so fun just spending time with our family and friends. It was a pretty successful weekend.
