Weekly review December 6, 2021 and more holiday lights

It’s getting so close to Christmas and there is still so much to accomplish before the holiday. It’s been so busy the days and weeks are just running into each other.

This past week we went to the Cavs game against the Bulls. We brought home another win against a really good team. It was nice to see some friends we hadn’t seen in awhile and catch up.

After the game we headed to the casino and to see the Christmas lights in public square. Every year as a kid my parents would take me to see the lights downtown so I’m so glad it’s something my husband and I do together. There were some decorations at the casino but I missed getting any pictures.

The lights in public square are just gorgeous. The tree is decorated so beautifully. Public square was all decked out and just gorgeous. They have an ice rink down there, as well as tons of events booked some even through January. There were tons of great spots for photos and I’m so glad we made some time to walk through.

Saturday I spent some time with the girls which was for sure needed. My friend insisted we go to Happy Moose in Mentor, which is not a place I normal go but I’m always in for something different. She had us try there expresso martini which was so good and then we tried some of their holiday drinks, which were all uniquely named. I didn’t get a picture of the menu and can’t remember the names correctly but loved that they had this specialty menu. I had the Irish Mule and my friend tried their cranberry Prosecco drink. It looked pretty and she said it was very refreshing.

Sundays are for trying new recipes. This past Sunday we tried Half Baked Harvest’s recipe for Spicy Pesto Pasta Alla Vodka. It was so good and the sauce was really easy to make. https://www.halfbakedharvest.com/spicy-pesto-pasta-alla-vodka/ is the link for the full recipe. I added sausage to mine but it really didn’t need it. This will be added to my favorites dishes!

I love the holidays around Cleveland. There’s so much to do! What are some places you enjoy?
