The Last Page Review Part 1

One of my favorite hobbies is to try new restaurants and new food. I just really enjoy experiencing new foods, things that are different from my normal everyday choices and learning about the culinary art of food. The Last Page or TLP is a new restaurant that just opened up around the beginning of this year. From the moment we walked into TLP to the moment we left I was impressed both times I visited. I have told everyone this needs to be on their list of places to experience. I say experience because I felt like it was an experience the whole night I was there. From the ambiance of the restaurant decor to the artistry of the food.

The restaurant is located in the Pinecrest shopping district in Orange Village, Ohio. They have a nice patio in the front of the restaurant, which is where we sat the second time we visited. There is a fire pit in the middle, with tables around the outside with couch like seats and then some tables scattered around. The patio is surrounded by pine trees which allows you to feel a little more secluded from the rest of the Pinecrest complex. The entrance of the restaurant is to the left when you walk up to the restaurant and it’s patio. The check in area you walk into has a separate bar and seating area. They told us on busy nights sometimes they do seat parties at this area and then they have their own private bartender. The bar in this front area is normally only open on busy night like a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. It is a really nice area to walk into and it is separated from the actually dining area. They have two sets of doors that you walk through to go into the actual dining room. They have booths and tables and the bar is in the very back of the restaurant, front and center.

There are two other unique things about the decor of this restaurant. One they have four separate bathrooms. All with different themes, so you know we checked out all four. Two of them have light up signs with some cool wallpaper and the other two have some really cool textured walls that are suppose to resemble bird feathers and fish scales. I know it is not a normal request, but I would check out their bathrooms. They put a lot of time and effort into them.

The second unique thing about this restaurant is they have a secret room you can rent for events. I can’t tell you where it is at but we were invited to go take a look at it. It has it’s own door into the kitchen area so once you are in there the door is shut and no one knows you are having you own party back there. The room appears to seat about 8-12 people, has it’s own tv and is designed beautifully. You can call the front desk for prices.

Moving on to drinks. Their drink menu is pretty extensive and my husband enjoyed that they did have some of the more rare options of Bourbon than other restaurants. Due to the extensive drink menu I did not take pictures of it, but I am going to try my best and provide the correct names of the drinks we tried. I can tell you they were all very well made and some were pretty unique. I of course went the boring route and tried their Old-Fashioned and a Manhattan. The Manhattan came out smoked, with the FML margarita. The FML margarita was a little on the spicy side due to the salt on the rim, but it was not too over powering. We also tried a cucumber cocktail, called the Spiked Spa, which I found to be very refreshing and the Clover Club. I also did notice that you could get mocktails as well if alcohol is not your thing but you still want a fancy drink.

That sums up the restaurant decor and the drinks. We will review all the food in my next review because there is a lot of it.
