Salty Salt Cave

**Disclosure: I was invited in by Salty to experience their services. As always my opinions are 100% my own.***

I’m always an advocate of taking care of yourself and your health and supporting local. So when I was given this amazing opportunity to check out Salty, the salt cave in Chardon, OH I couldn’t say no. I had never been to a salt cave and honestly can’t wait to go back. I was a little unsure what to expect but felt so amazing afterward.

The staff was great about walking us through each of the processes, how they work and what to expect. They have pamphlets that explain the history and how these treatments will help you.

Salty offers salt cave experiences, foot detox, infrared sauna and/or time in the salt booth. They also have red light face masks and therapy wraps. There is also a massage therapist and Reiki specialist available. They host other events during the week and weekends that includes but not limited to yoga, breath work and drumming and a sound bath in the salt cave. Make sure to check out their website

Our experience included a 45 minute session in the salt cave. The salt cave is built from blocks of Himalayan salt bricks and the floor is loose salt that just helps you feel relaxed as soon as you start walking through it. You get your choice of noise cancelling headphones and weighted blankets to really help you relax once you are seated in your zero gravity lounge chair. We then had lavender hand wax treatments and a foot detox. My hands felt amazingly soft after the lavender wax. The color of the water was disgusting after our foot detox. I had been a little under the weather and the water matched my symptoms. We then spent 20 minutes in the salt booth with some red light therapy. I’ve now done this twice and felt so amazing the next day after. Then last but not least we sat in the sauna with some more red light therapy. I couldn’t believe how long we were in the sauna but it was much needed.

Salty also carries salt lamps, self care items and an array of other items for purchase. I purchased a bunch of gifts at Christmas time and everyone has truly enjoyed their items.

If you are looking for self wellness I suggest checking out Salty. Like I said I was very under the weather when I was there and within a day or two I was already feeling better. The history of salt caves says that it should reduce inflammation and provide antibacterial benefits and from my experience this is true. If the salt cave is not for you Salty has so many other options that might fit your style and what you like and need at the time. I can’t wait to check out some of her events and get some more self care in my life.

Have you been to Salty or attended one of her events?
