Rollhouse Solon

**Disclosure: I was invited in by Rollhouse for their opening of Nexus: Gel Blaster. As always my opinions are 100% my own.**

Did you know bowling alleys aren’t just for bowling anymore?? They have so much more to offer.

Rollhouse Solon has bowling but they also have a huge arcade area, a restaurant and bar area, karaoke, Escapology, and now Gel Blaster. They just recently opened up their Nexus: Gel Blaster in April. Gel Blaster is a combination of laser tag and paint ball. It’s almost like being in a live action video game. The guns shoot water pellets which is less painful than paintball but you can feel them unlike laser tag. There is a height and age requirement for this and they do have a laser tag option for little kids birthday parties that are too small for gel blaster.

Gel Blaster is $12 per game or $20 for two games. The age minimum is 10 years old and the height requirement is 48 inches. There are three modes you can pick from during your gameplay and this affects how you shoot your water pellets. Rollhouse supplies the helmet and vest. The vest connects to your gun and this then activates your spot in the game.

When we played we choose to play every person for themselves instead of teams. We all really enjoyed this. My niece and nephew absolutely loved this and had so much fun. They were chasing all of us around including myself, who was videotaping and didn’t even have a gun. I was hit a couple times and it was not painful at all. Whether you have kids or not this is totally worth checking out.

Rollhouse Solon has a huge area full of arcade games where you can win tickets and prizes. They had everything from skeeball to basketball to ring toss. You can get a refillable card that you put money on and swipe at each game. This area is really nice with tons of game options.

Lastly, we checked out the restaurant bar area. They have a really spacious bar and a decent amount of tables to eat at. We didn’t try any food but there was something that caught our eye. Rollhouse Solon has a bourbon bar with a wide array of bourbon options. It has been a passion project for the owners son and he has tons of knowledge and is continuing to research and learn. They were lucky enough to get a Weller barrel of full proof specific for Rollhouse Solon. We chatted all about some of the options they had and tried the Rockhill Farms single barrel. It was smooth and an easy every day drinker.

If you are a bourbon fan another thing to know is every Wednesday is Rollhouse’s bourbon night. They have bourbon for 20% off from 7pm until close. Their bourbon is very fairly priced so with that 20% off you can more than fairly try some pours you may have never had before. It sounds like there may be some regulars especially in the summer months and you may just run into us there as well.

If you’re looking for a place that has something for everyone Rollhouse Solon is your place. From arcade games, gel blaster, bowling, food, drinks and bourbon and escapology just a walk through the parking lot away Rollhouse really does have it all. We had so much fun and can’t wait to go back! Thanks for having us in Rollhouse Solon!
