Another stop on our ice cream tour and we were so impressed we stopped three times. Kirtland Creamery is located right on 306 in Kirtland. They have a beautiful covered patio, so you can enjoy ice cream rain or shine. I love their theme with all the forest animals, which are even carved on some of the tables.
Their menu has so many options and then they also have a flavor of the month and specials of the month. What I really like about Kirtland Creamery is how they lay out their specialty sundaes. All their sundaes come three across with different flavors of ice cream and different syrups and/or berries on top. The first time we went I had to try the very berry trail. I got my choice of ice cream which of course I went with vanilla and then the 3 scoops all had different toppings. It was amazing!!! My husband got the Turtle Crossing both times we went because Turtles are a must. Our friends tried the monthly flavor for June and when we went back in July they made a special sundae with brownies and chocolate ice cream.
Kirtland Creamery does have a monthly flavor and a monthly sundae. For the month of July they had the Lake Erie Monster which consisted of blue cake batter ice cream blend with cookie chunks, drops of chocolate chips, and chocolate cookies and cream. The sundae of the month was the red white & blue. It consisted of 1 scoop of Lake Erie Monster, black cherry and vanilla. Topped with blueberry, cherry, and marshmallow sauces with whipped cream and a cherry. This is probably one of my favorite flavors and sundaes ever. We went twice in the month of July because I had to have this again before it was gone.
I haven’t tried the garbage cans but my friend did not once but twice. The first time she tried it she was not sure how she felt about it so she felt the need to try it again. Both times was the same results sadly. The ice cream mix is a little thinner than we would like with lots of pieces of chocolate chips, making it really chunky. Some people might really like it like this but she was not a fan. I feel like I might need to try one of these to make my own opinion. Otherwise everything we have had from here is amazing.
