Well I was working on this post when they just extended the time frame of the Asian Lantern Festival at the Cleveland Metropark’s Zoo and if you haven’t been you really should. It now runs until September 16th and I highly suggest taking advantage of the extension.
We have gone every year and it’s our family tradition now. This year was the first year it has ever rained on us. We didn’t let it damper our time. It just slowed us down a little bit. We normally walk the whole zoo twice and this year we did it once and then some of the stuff in the beginning a second time.
There were a couple of animals out and active. We saw the rhinos (baby included), the tigers, the snow leopard and the beaver was out and swimming.
They again this year had food under the pavilion and shows in the theater. We ate dinner before but the kiddos did get boba from 808 Shaved Ice.
I don’t want to give too much of it away but the lanterns were beautiful this year just as in the past. I feel like every year I have a favorite/something that just blows me away. This year that would sure be the butterfly tunnel. The colors were just gorgeous all lit up. The big dragon in the lake was also up there on my favorites list.
Have you been this year? What were your favorites?
